    RNA分子之二級結構具有各種功能性，搜尋相似的RNA結構，將提供有用的資訊於瞭解RNA之調控機制。在大量的RNA序列中，搜尋相似之結構是十分耗時的，因此我們提出一個預先處理的策略－RNAMST來加強搜尋的效率。相較於其他RNA結構搜尋工具，RNAMST不僅搜尋速度快、易於使用，對於相似結構之辨識，也具有較大的彈性，使用者可透過直覺的網頁介面，即可輕易的使用本系統。

    此論文的貢獻在於儲存一些病毒的資料。利用這些資料可以用來設計病毒之探針，並透過DNA晶方之實驗，很快偵測出新的未知病毒，並依此發展出新的疫苗或藥物。這對新興的流行疾病如SARS或禽流感之預防有很大的貢獻。
